Getting started
Sign in with Google, start your first chat, install Gluon as an app and find your way around.
Section titled “Sign in”Gluon signs you in with your Google account. Open Gluon and choose Continue with Google; the account’s verified email address is the one other people use to invite you to their groups. If a group invitation brought you here, sign in with the address the invitation was sent to.
Every new member starts with 500 free promotional credits. See Credits and usage.
Your first chat
Section titled “Your first chat”The Home page is a new chat with your personal assistant, called “
A few things to try:
- “What’s on my calendar this week?”
- “Remind me to call the bank tomorrow at 10.”
- “Summarise this article: https://example.com/post”
- “Build me a small app to split our grocery bill.”
Gluon works with tools: it can search the web, keep your calendar, read your files and email, run code in a private workspace and more. Some actions, such as sending an email, ask for your approval first. See Permissions and approvals.
Find your way around
Section titled “Find your way around”The main navigation has Chats, Artifacts, Calendar, Files and Email, plus Settings. On a phone it is a tab bar at the bottom.
- Chats lists your private chats and your groups. Your agents sits below them; selecting an agent starts a new chat with it.
- Needs you appears above the chat list when something waits for you, such as an approval or a reminder.
- Settings holds your agents, memory, email address, connectors, notifications, credits and appearance.
See App pages for every page and how to reach it.

Install Gluon as an app
Section titled “Install Gluon as an app”Gluon is a web app you can install on your phone or computer. Installed, it opens instantly, even offline, and on iPhone it can receive notifications, which iOS delivers only to apps on the home screen.
- Chrome, Edge and Android: Gluon offers to install from its own dialog, or go to Settings → General → Install Gluon at any time.
- iPhone and iPad (Safari): tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- Mac (Safari): choose File → Add to Dock.
Gluon may suggest installing from your second visit on a device. Choose Not now to be asked later, or Don’t ask again.
When a new version of Gluon is ready, a “A new version of Gluon is ready · Reload” message appears. Gluon never reloads by itself, so you never lose what you were typing.
Make it yours
Section titled “Make it yours”- Companion: your Gluon has a furry companion: Gloo (a furball), Kit (a fox) or Puff (a sheep), in one of six colors. Choose it on your Gluon’s page in Settings → Agents.
- Home scene: Earth (follows the time of day), Space, Underwater or Plain, in Settings → General → Scene.
- Theme: Match device, Light or Dark, in Settings → General.
What stays on your device
Section titled “What stays on your device”Gluon keeps what each page last showed on your device, so it opens quickly and works offline, and it keeps unsent messages as drafts for 30 days. Signing out deletes them from that device.
