Troubleshooting

Fixes for common problems: out of credits, failed replies, email not arriving or not sending, notifications, unreadable files, workspace commands, browser sign-ins, groups, reminders and connectors.

Your balance is zero or below, so Gluon can’t start paid work. Check Settings → Plan & usage and buy credits there when buying is available. Free things, such as reading history and deleting files, keep working. See Credits and usage.

Gluon couldn’t check your balance, so it didn’t start paid work. Try again in a moment.

The chat shows Failed in the list. Send your message again. A reply that produced nothing for 10 minutes is stopped automatically. If a reply was cut off by a restart, the chat says it was interrupted so you can retry; Gluon doesn’t repeat work on its own because an action may already have happened.

It’s probably waiting for you: look for an approval card, a question, or the browser asking you to sign in, and check Needs you. Queued messages wait until you answer.

  • Forward from your Gluon sign-in address or one of your allowed email addresses. Automatic forwarding rules and mailing services may send from a different address; allow that one.
  • Check that receiving is on in Settings → Email.
  • Emails over 10 MiB or with more than 50 attachments are rejected, and so is everything once the inbox holds 1 GiB.
  • Arrival takes a few moments while attachments are saved.

Every recipient must be on your allowed email addresses in Settings → Email. Add them there; approving the send can’t override the list. Also check you’ve chosen your Gluon address.

It acts only on mail from you or your allowed addresses whose sender can be verified, and only when your note at the top is a clear request. Check Act on forwarded requests is on. Family inboxes never act on their own; mention @Gluon in the group instead.

  • Turn on Push notifications for this device in Settings → Notifications, then use Send a test.
  • On iPhone and iPad, install Gluon on the home screen first.
  • Muted chats and groups don’t notify, and nothing is pushed for the chat you have open.
  • Check your device and browser allow notifications for Gluon.
  • Scanned PDFs have no text layer; Gluon can only look at their pages as images, and there’s no OCR.
  • Images over 3 MiB and PDFs over 10 MiB or 100 pages are read as text where possible.
  • Password-protected or damaged files can’t be opened.
  • DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 reads PDFs as text only.

Just Bash is a simulated shell without Python, Node, git, package installs or internet. In a private chat, ask Gluon to use the Linux workspace instead; it costs credits while it runs. Groups have Just Bash only.

Websites expire sessions, ask for verification codes or block automated browsers. Take control, sign in, then choose Done · continue. Saved sign-ins are per profile, so check the task uses the profile you signed in with.

Your Gluon may be switched off in that group: check Info → Your Gluon here. The composer offers to add it back. Also check you have credits.

Gluon uses your device’s time zone. Open Gluon on the device whose time zone you want, or tell Gluon your time zone and ask it to fix the reminder.

A chat waiting for your approval or answer can’t be put away. Answer it first.

Invitations expire after seven days and only work for the Google account with the invited email address. Ask the owner to send a new one. A removed member also needs the owner to allow them back.

A connector shows “Sign-in needed” or “Failed”

Section titled “A connector shows “Sign-in needed” or “Failed””

Open it in Settings → Connectors & tools and sign in again. If it keeps failing, remove it and add it again; for servers with an API key, check the header value.

Gluon opens with what each page last showed, then refreshes. If you’re offline it keeps the saved copy. When “A new version of Gluon is ready” appears, choose Reload.
