Features
Web and images
Web search, reading web pages and PDFs by link, pages that need JavaScript, and creating or editing images.
Web search
Section titled “Web search”Gluon searches the web when you ask about news, prices, opening hours or anything recent: “What are the visa rules for Thailand for Indians this year?” It cites its sources and says when a search failed or found nothing.
- Search results are short excerpts, so Gluon reads the full page when the details matter.
- Each search costs a little; see Prices.
- Web search offers only Allow or Off, because it runs at the search provider as soon as Gluon calls it.
For research across many sources, ask Gluon to “look into this properly”; it hands the work to a research copy of itself. See Delegation.
Reading a page
Section titled “Reading a page”Paste a link and ask about it: “Summarise https://example.com/article.” Gluon reads public HTTPS pages and files:
- web pages, plain text, JSON and CSV;
- PDFs, Word, Excel, OpenDocument and Numbers files, converted to text;
- up to 5 MiB per download; long pages are cut, and Gluon says so.
It can’t sign in, sees no cookies of yours, and doesn’t run a page’s JavaScript. It won’t open local or private network addresses, or links with a password in them.
Pages that need JavaScript
Section titled “Pages that need JavaScript”Some pages only show their content after JavaScript runs. In private chats Gluon can render such a page in a cloud browser and read the result. Rendering is charged by the second of browser time. For sites that need you signed in or need clicking through, use the Browser.
What Gluon reads from the web is information, never instructions to follow.
Images
Section titled “Images”In private chats Gluon can create an image from a description, or edit and combine up to four images, such as photos you attached, Drive files or images in its workspace, each up to 8 MiB.
- “Make a birthday card image with a cartoon elephant and ‘Happy 7th, Aarav!’”
- “Remove the background from this photo.”
- “Combine these two photos into one collage, square.”
You can ask for an aspect ratio. The image appears in the chat and is also saved in your Just
Bash workspace under /workspace/images, so Gluon can edit it again later or save it to your
Drive. Generating an image costs what the image model charges, plus the usual markup.
Gluon can also see images you attach, and read images in your files and email. See Files.
